On Monday, April 8, Terrex Development & Construction and Messer Construction Co. broke ground on Uptown Gateway, a $250 million mixed-use development in the Uptown Innovation Corridor. City officials, university and community leaders gathered at the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Reading Road to celebrate the newest development in Cincinnati’s Innovation District.
New Plans Released for Corridor Development
MLK Investors I, a partnership between Neyer Properties and Kulkharni Properties, recently released updated development plans for “the node,” a mixed-use development in the Uptown Innovation Corridor. The development will be located on the northeast quadrant of the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Reading Road intersection by the new I-71 interchange.

As a recipient of federal New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) utilizes this financing tool to invest in projects throughout the five Uptown neighborhoods. The tax credits are designed to encourage private investment in underserved communities that otherwise have difficulty attracting private capital.
