UCI Launches Community Survey to Help Identify Priorities and Opportunities for 2024 in Uptown

As the end of 2023 approaches, Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) is turning its sights to 2024 and beyond. UCI is launching an online community survey to gather important feedback from residents, workers, students and visitors to learn more about their attitudes and perceptions of Uptown Cincinnati. UCI will use the survey results to identify and define short-, medium- and long-term priorities and opportunities that will contribute to continued collaborative growth in Uptown.

The survey is open from October 23, 2023 - December 31, 2023. The survey is anonymous, unless you would like to enter the drawing for a $100 gift card to an Uptown business of your choosing. Five people will be randomly selected. Please enter your name and email and/or phone number at the bottom of the survey if you would like to enter the drawing. The winner will be selected on January 2, 2024.

How UC students helped with the survey

To develop the survey, UCI worked with students in the Lindner First-Year Experience program at the University of Cincinnati’s (UC) Carl H. Lindner College of Business. As part of Project Impact, students work with a partner organization, using their newly acquired business skills to help that organization achieve its goals and improve the Cincinnati community. Students worked in small groups to understand UCI’s mission first and then developed survey questions to adequately solicit answers revealing what’s important to people who live in, work in, and visit Uptown. The questions used in this community survey include some of the questions developed by the students involved in Project Impact.

Engaging UC students to work on this survey is a prime example of how UCI partners with its member anchor organizations (UC, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, UC Health and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden) to fulfill its mission of creating an innovative and inclusive urban district.

It’s also an example of how critical it is to have students who live, work and go to school in Uptown develop questions to help make the area a better place and attract the next generation of talent. “The Project Impact students are an important part of the current fabric of Uptown,” says Director of Community Development & External Relations Brooke Rapp. “Their input is helping to determine how we attract top talent to the region and how Uptown will continue to serve its current residents and visitors.”

The next step is to engage stakeholders with this survey. Please share the survey link with anyone interested in providing feedback to UCI.
