Uptown in The News

Uptown is off to a great start in 2020 and momentum is building. Already, Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) and the Uptown Innovation Corridor have been featured in local and regional media outlets. The various stories highlight development updates, the Corridor’s regional impact, and UCI’s innovative inclusion efforts. WCPO

WCPO recently featured Terrex Development & Construction’s Uptown Gateway development, the first project to begin construction in the Uptown Innovation Corridor. The story was part of WCPO’s “Move Up Cincinnati” segment, which focuses on development in the tri-state area.

Peter Horton, Principal, Terrex, spoke about Terrex’s vision for the development, UC’s planned Digital Futures building, and construction milestones.

“We’re already seeing great interest and activity, so we are very excited about some of the potential corporate clients that are looking at taking space within our development,” said Horton.

Cincinnati Business Courier

Every year, the Cincinnati Business Courier highlights the top developments in the city in its “20 Projects to Watch” story. The publication selected the Uptown Innovation Corridor as one of the developments reshaping the region in 2020. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“Terrex and Messer’s Uptown Gateway is under construction. This $200 million project will include spec office building and UC’s digital futures building. Across the street, Neyer Properties and Kulkarni Properties are working on plans for the Node. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is finalizing development plans for a $110 million state-of-the-art research facility in the Uptown Innovation Corridor.”

Ohio Economic Development Association

The Ohio Economic Development Association featured UCI in one of its recent newsletters. The story focused on UCI’s Goal Setter of the Year award from the Minority Business Accelerator as part of the CLIMB Awards.

“It’s incredibly gratifying that the Consortium’s inclusion initiative is being recognized. Economic inclusion is a top priority for us, and it’s something that the Consortium strives for every day,” said Beth Robinson, UCI’s president and CEO. “We couldn’t do this important work without WEB Ventures and we’re grateful to have them as a partner in Uptown.”
