The Short Vine Business Association recently launched a holiday giveaway promotion to drum up support for small businesses in the neighborhood. Now until December 23, individuals can enter to win prizes from Short Vine businesses, such as cookie making kits from The Sweet Place Bakery and a party room rental with pizza from Mio’s in Clifton.

This month, Beth Robinson, President and CEO of Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) was invited to speak during the Clinton Foundation’s national virtual event “Affordable Housing and (Re)Building the American Dream” as part of a panel on “The Power of Homeownership: Strategies for Increasing Wealth and Building Equity.” The session focused on what organizations across the country are doing to build wealth and equity for residents in underserved communities, and how attendees could implement similar efforts in their own cities.

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) recently launched Uptown Forward, a new program providing education and assistance for small businesses located in Uptown. The program focuses on helping small businesses build their digital presence, especially amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has limited in-person options for businesses of all types.

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) recently hosted Thane Maynard, Director of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, for a virtual presentation about how the Zoo adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming PNC Festival of Lights, new renovations and more. Maynard also toured attendees around the Zoo to view the animals and some of the new habitats and changes. The virtual event was part of UCI’s effort to provide support and information to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During a month focused on thankfulness, it seems fitting to shine a spotlight on partnerships. And Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) is thankful for many partnerships it has, including one with the Cincinnati Development Fund (CDF) that dates back to 2006.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati is the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world with its new expansion, which opens this month. Ronald McDonald House provides free living accommodations for patient families receiving treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

The Clifton Business Association recently launched Gift in Clifton, a promotion to support small businesses in the district around Ludlow Avenue. Through Gift in Clifton, shoppers can purchase gift bags featuring a variety of gift certificates from local businesses.

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) recently received a Gold Economic Equity and Inclusion Award as part of the International Economic Development Council’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards for UCI’s inclusion initiatives.

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) and its design partner Sasaki recently completed new plans for the Innovation Greenway. This multi-acre green space will be incorporated into the developments at Martin Luther King Drive and Reading Road. Much of the Greenway will run through the Node, a mixed-use development by MLK Investors I, and the new site renderings show how the green space will be laid out.
