Uptown Consortium, Inc. is hosting a virtual event that is all about the CROWN network and the vital connection to and through Avondale. Join us to learn more about how this walkable, bikeable loop will be fully separated from roadway traffic, providing a safe and accessible option for all Cincinnatians to gather and be active outdoors. Benefits of the trail network, and the vital connection through Avondale, will include cleaner air, increased access to healthy foods via trail connectivity to local grocery stores, and increased employment opportunities for those living and working in Uptown.

Beth Robinson, UCI’s President, and CEO will moderate a panel discussion with CROWN Network experts and Avondale community leaders including:

Russell Hairston is responsible for administration, fundraising and sustainability development for the Avondale Development Corporation. He has more than 25 years of experience developing and implementing high-impact, award-winning strategies to improve urban neighborhoods.

Wade Johnston is an avid commuter cyclist and outdoor enthusiast. Under Wade's leadership, Tri-State Trails has grown from a grassroots coalition to the leading advocacy organization for active transportation issues in Greater Cincinnati.

Sean McGrory is the Board President of Wasson Way, an organization promoting and developing the Wasson Way urban greenway trail connecting several neighborhoods and communities in eastern Cincinnati. Sean also serves on the Leadership Team of CROWN, the Cincinnati Riding or Walking Network. CROWN is a collaborative initiative working to create a 34-mile connected loop of trails in Cincinnati.

All Cincinnati communities, regardless of their situational or economic characteristics, could and will benefit from the ease of access to healthy activities the CROWN will provide into Uptown.

The virtual event is scheduled for 11am-12pm on Wednesday, July 13. It’s free and open to Uptown partners, businesses, organizations, residents, and community members. Questions can be submitted in advance.
