Outdoor Flying Trapeze Lessons

Flying Trapeze is an amazing experience that my wife Joanne and I first encountered while performing as a juggler in Washington DC. At the time we walked past the Washington DC Trapeze School and they were beautiful. Never mind, my fear of heights they looked like they were having so much fun I had to try.

Several months later, Joanne and I traveled to New York and to flying trapeze lessons at the New York Flying trapeze school. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were in love with flying instantly. The owners were there and gracious. It just so happened that they were filming a commercial while we were there and somewhere on you tube and now face book is an embarrassing video of us. I will not link to it here.

We returned home and we began researching flying trapeze. We poured ourselves into the topic, meeting people, watching videos and reading copious amounts. We also began looking for a flying trapeze rig. After discussions with all the manufacturers and a great deal of assistance we were guided to a rig by Peter Gold. Peter if you don't know is a famous trapeze artist and the founder of "Trapeze Experience."

Now with a rig and enough knowledge to be dangerous all we needed to give Cincinnati the gift of flight were instructors. We were fortunate that living in Cincinnati was former circus performer and Bob Seaton. Among Bob's many accomplishments, and trust us there are many... (Bob is the most fascinating man we have ever met! Seriously, it's ridiculous. If you don't believe him, ask him about knife throwing, or surviving in Africa, or writing a book, or sniper school, or my favorite flying trapeze). Soon other experience instructors joined us and many experienced flyers. We are grateful to all of them as well as the many citizens of Cincinnati who have help us along the way. None of this could have been possible with out the support of the many people who hire us to entertain.
