Three Local Individuals Receive Solar PV Training Scholarships
Melink Corporation (the company that is constructing the solar panel at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden) recently selected the first three recipients of their Solar Photovoltaic Training Scholarships to attend the Photovoltaic (PV) Installer Training Program offered through the Cincinnati State Workforce Development Program.
The 2011 recipients were:
Mark Allen
Conlei Blanks
Ruben Kelly, Jr
The scholarship will not only allow these individuals gain valuable classroom experience on how to install PV systems, but also provide an opportunity to work on the largest publicly accessible and educational PV system in the nation, located at the Cincinnati Zoo.
“These individuals are wonderful members of the community and we’re excited that the project will open up new opportunities for them in the future,” said Donna Jones, chief financial officer of Melink Corporation. “Given all of the time and effort that this team put into bringing the project to fruition, it’s nice to know that those efforts ultimately made a positive difference in the lives of these three individuals.”
Congratulations Mark, Conlei and Ruben – the Uptown community is looking forward to seeing the finished canopy as a result of your hard work!
