Hundreds flock to Holidays on Ludlow
The snow and winter-like temperatures were par for the course at last Friday’s Holidays on Ludlow event. People came out by the hundreds to celebrate the season, warmed from the inside out by all the Christmas cheer. The Clifton Plaza was bubbling with activity all night long. The Fairview Choir sang carols while dozens of patient people across the street waited in line to ride the horse-drawn carriage. A warm-beverage station was a popular pit stop for passersby who could not resist a cup of hot cider or coffee.
Santa Claus was seated in first class on the top of a fire truck that paraded down Ludlow. Families, children and even pets could not wait to snap a photo with the man in red. Businesses up and down the street were filled to the brim with people, some who shopped and some who just could not help but take a brief reprieve from the cold.
This year’s Holidays on Ludlow event presented an ideal opportunity to spread the word to locals about the “Shop Local=Shop Ludlow” campaign. A booth located on the plaza was the shop local hub where reusable shopping bags, decals, store coupons and shop local information was handed out. Approximately 400 reusable shopping bags with the “Shop Local=Shop Ludlow” logo imprint were given away to event attendees. Additionally, businesses up and down Ludlow proudly displayed decals with the campaign logo in shop windows. Be sure to refer to the Uptown Cincinnati website and Facebook page often to find out when you may be able to nab a “Shop Local=Shop Ludlow” bag and decal of your own.
